The play Mamma Mia! in general was a very exciting and enthusiastic performance that kept their audience on their feet, dancing singing along to songs made by one of the most iconic bands in history ABBA.
Each character had so much drive that they build up scenes and chemistry with each other to support one another. They were all very prepared and some of the characters were supposed to have comedic aspects and they were very creative in doing so.
Memorization:
Each
character was well prepared with their lines on stage. But you can tell that
they don’t just memorize on stage, but their easygoing vibe while performing
was due to their understanding of the scene and their improvisation.

Characterization:
All
of them were very disguised in their own character; they have really come to
a point as to where they have become their character.
Blocking:
Due
to there times of probably a thousand rehearsals their blocking was done
well. No one was really blocking anyone and his or her positions were right.
Vocal
work:
They
intonation, articulation, projection, were great it was understandable.
Despite the fact that they also had to sing, they were very good at
controlling their breathing.
Movement:
Their
movement on stage were all well prepared because they all had dance
choreography too. But they also had movement that were triggered by
instincts; not just movement that were supposed to be interpreted in the
scene but also an act called ‘business acting’.

The
play in general was a very exciting and enthusiastic performance that kept
their audience on their feet, dancing, singing along to songs made by one of
the most iconic bands in history ABBA.
Each character in Mamma Mia! had so much drive that they build

Sophie is one of the main characters that represents Donna’s daughter. Her personality is quite giddy, energetic, girly, but also quite depending and sensitive. She is quite depending due to the fact that she cant really make up her mind whether she was going to get married or not; not until her fiancĂ© told her that they should go and travel the world. But her character is also very loving, because of the fact that she does not want to break the bond between her mother.
Donna:
Donna here is the main character of the play
because it was her that did not tell her daughter who her father was and it was
her who got tangled up in this mess when all three of her affairs came to her
daughters wedding. Her character is very hard working, independent, and strong.
But she also has a soft side that she hides, and that soft side is only
triggered by the deep love she has for her daughter.
The two best friends of Donna:
I love their character because every time they’re in a scene they would always build it to become a scene full of smiles and laughter. Their character was very unique in their way of interpreting comedic aspects.
A
girl named Sophie is about to get married and she wants her father to walk her
down the aisle. The problem is she doesn’t know who her father is. Because of
that she decided to read her mother’s (named Donna) diary, after reading her
mother’s diary she found 3 men that could just be her father. After that Sophie
sent in 3 letters to all of the candidates that could be her father to come to
her wedding and walk her down the aisle. But that wasn’t the only problem. When
all of the 3 men came by the island Donna did not know about their arrival so
she was very confused and stressed. This caused a conflict between all the 3
men, donna, and Sophie. Though at the end the one who did got married was not
Sophie but indeed Donna.
I
indeed see the standard that should be passed to achieve a award winning show.
I
was indeed satisfied with the set up because it was very unique yet also very
simple. The props that they used were good, and their costumes were very set to
the surroundings.
The
set up was important and also the dance and singing.
I
would make the set up a little more complex looking because the one in this
play was very simple and the more you see it, it gets a little boring.
It
is a very enjoyable thing to be an audience that interacts with the actors
either by singing along or laughing along with the play.
I certainty
enjoyed this play, despite musical being one of my favorite plays, this one
kept me on my toes and wanting for more.
Their
relationship with the audience was absolutely great the fact that everyone at
the end got on their feet and dance while sing along with the famous songs of
ABBA, we all had a very great time.
I
have learned from Mamma Mia! that each character doesn’t only need to remember his or her lines
but they also need to remember what the other actors in the same scene says to
be able to support them in the scene. Also that each actor needs to build
chemistry to be able to really build up the scene and make the play more
understandable and enjoyable.
