Mamma Mia! Reviews- The Drama was played excellently

The drama Mamma Mia! was played excellently and my opinion, every aspect/detail of the performance was played without flaw or mistake. The play was creative and entertaining from beginning, climax and resolution. The actors/actresses that took part in this play were highly committed to their parts as i can see that they were motivated, enthuastic, supportive, prepared and creative when it comes to acting their roles, memorizing/knowing well their lines from the script and using the props around them really well.

The memorization was well established by both the actors and actresses as despite the fact that they lip-synced during the singing of their songs, they seem like memorized the whole script well, and if they did forget their lines, then meaning their way of improvising is highly convincing. The personality and attitude of a certain character is always shown by the actors/actresses, as they were able to live in their character and convince the audience about the traits of their characters.

The blocking was established successfully as they rarely show their backs and every time a character is saying their lines, they were always the center of the attention and therefore their positions were managed in a good position.

The vocalization was very good as whenever the actors/actresses say their lines; they were always loud and clear with an excellent tone. I can also easily tell the mood of each character, judging by their facial expression and body language. The movements of the actors/actresses were easily understandable by the audience as they established perceivable movements that were obvious to the audience.

Sophie- A pretty, loving, cheerful, young adult who is supremely curios when it comes to knowing whom her biological father is. She is an independent woman and a daughter of Donna and Harry’s.
Donna- Donna is an attractive yet indecisive woman who ended up falling in love with Harry for the second time and finally marry him on Sophie’s wedding day (supposedly)

My favorite character in Mamma Mia! is Tanya as she is a strong, ladylike and generous person. She helped encourage Donna into making good decisions based on her experiences and judging by this,  I can see that she has a good personality.

Donna is introduced as an independent hotelier in the Greek islands, is preparing for her daughter's wedding with the help of two old friends. Meanwhile Sophie, the spirited bride, has a plan. She then secretly invites 3 men from her mother's “past” in hope of meeting her real father and having him escort her down the aisle on her big day. Donna invited Tanya and Rosie to attend Sophie’s wedding but ended up being the ones that calmed and helped Donna’s shocked emotions caused by the mentioned 3 men. During the climax, Harry confessed that he was the actual biological father of Sophie’s. He then found out that he and Donna were actually still in love with one another. In attempt to make use of youth and build a bright future, Sophie decided to cancel her wedding but unexpectedly Harry decided to marry Donna on Sophie’s wedding day.

I barely notice any major challenge, however it might be supremely difficult to act and convince the audience like the actors did.

I was highly satisfied with the costume as they helped the actors/actresses to become convincing characters and somehow show their traits. The props and set decorations were also excellent as it basically established the setting of the place, which gives an idea of a greek setting. The lighting and sound were outstanding as these determine the mood of each and every scene.

In my opinion, the element of drama, which was important, was basically the music. As first, each sound effect helped convince the mood of the scene.

If I had an opportunity to create a similar performance, I would honestly reduce a few acts so that the play would not be as long because the audience may or may not think that unnecessary acts are not worth the time and is boring. I would also manage to not show my back frequently, because as an audience, it somehow irritates me a little.

As an audience, I learnt that to fully appreciate a certain play, we need to be able to show respect by giving our full attention to the play and also keep perceiving on what the actors/actresses deliver on purpose to enlighten/entertain the audience.

I enjoyed watching the stylized form/genre of the performance because in my opinion the genre, which is comedy, musical and romance were fully established during the play as its plot has romantic aspects, the music are well sang, and overall the actors/actresses were funny.

If I were to rate the actor-audience relationship, it would be 10 out of 10 because as I observed, the audience were entertained as they put their full attention to the actors while they are performing their role. In the end, both the audience and the actor looked joyous as they danced and sang together.

The level of skills I learnt that are needed for the musical form was to be highly confident whatever we are performing at the moment, whether singing or acting, as this will show that the actor is fully committed to entertain the audience as I've seen in Mamma Mia!.
